Frost & Sullivan Bets on Nepal

And by bet, I mean opening of an office in Kathmandu.. at least to begin with. Frost & Sullivan is a California, US based consulting company focused on “transformational growth strategies driven by disruptive technologies, mega trends, emerging markets and new business models” according to its website.

Frost & Sullivan aims to put Nepal in the global map as one of the best investment destinations in the world. It claims to have already been working on pilot projects in 14 different sectors including energy, capacity building, telecommunication, software, research and automative.” Frost & Sullivan recently organized a webinar titled “Uncovering Nepal: Exploring Trends and Emerging Opportunities” recently which saw participation of policy makers as well as industrialists in Nepal as well as people from 15 countries in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

According to Manoj Menon, the firm is not sector specific and aims to educate the global investors on business and investment opportunities in Nepal. Frost & Sullivan is hosting a follow-up conference in November in Kathmandu titled “Growth Innovation and Leadership”, the agenda of which doesn’t include Nepal specific details yet.
